I dream

I dream. I dream in technicolor. I dream in vast details and ever expanding story lines. I dream continuously between midnight awakenings.

For a long time I wrote my dreams down. I literally kept a notebook by the side of the bed. Upon waking I would just roll over and write. Amazing how much detail you remember in those first moments of waking that you forget as the day goes on. I would always leave a few pages blank after my dream summary for translation purposes. I have more dream analysis books than I'd care to admit.

Writing down my dreams gave me control over them. I started becoming completely aware of the times that I was in a dream state and had absolute control over my behavior. This is called lucid dreaming. I don't lucid dream anymore because I no longer journal my dreams like I used to. I need to start again...and quick. My dreams lately are completely out of control. They are so bad, that I dare not even write here what they were. Honestly, I'm a bit freaked out. It's not even so much what happened in my dreams, but how I reacted.

Does anyone else have freaky, weird dreams that rock you to your very core? Please say I'm not alone on this.

You are totally not alone in this. I have dreams that play out like movies. Complete with characters, story lines and plot twists... Freakish

I very rarely remember my dreams, but I know I HAVE them. I think that you are smart and right in needing to write them down. I don't believe that they foretell anything, but I DO believe that they are our subconscious trying to work something out.

Every now and then, I do. The details are always really mundane, but there is something terrifying happening.

I've got a cat threatening to maim me if she's not fed as soon as I get out of bed, and kids to deal with, so the dreams are gone as soon as I open my eyes! The only dreams I remember are the x-rated ones.

I only ever remember my freaky prophetic dreams - I dream about people the day before they die, it seems. Those dreams are all the same, the person in question is there, doesn't know I can see them, and is obviously talking, but I can't hear their voice. Other than those, a freaky one I had while on Champix and the reoccurring nightmares I had as a 5 year old? I remember nothing.

No, you are not the only one... I have had dreams that left me rocked to my core for days.
I had a dream once about my child dying. They say it's natural to have at least one of those dreams as a parent. It didn't feel natural and I called my mom at 3am to cry on the phone to her about it.

I have had my share of freaky dreams - but not in a long time. I dream often and I can wake, go to the bathroom and go back and finish a dream if I want to. My sister has good dreams. My husband claims to never dream - but, I know he does - he often talks in his dreams and moans. Great post, girl.

Take care and I'll see you soon - Kellan

The stress dreams are the worse for me and anyone in bed with me...;) Really I talk and seem awake during my stress dreams, they are also so vivid that when I wake up it takes me a while to figure out if it was a dream.

Hey let me know how the Outlook organization goes for you? I know you just revamped the computer so if you run into issues give me a holla. :)

You are not alone. But my dreams are far more boring and in less vivid colors than yours!

I wrote about a dream I had about my hubs before I even met him... that was weird. I have also had a dream that I believe told me my brother will pass away before one of my parents. It was really a strange dream too. I have very vivid dreams whether they are scary, erotic or weird. Sometimes I have 'serial' dreams... one that continues for several nights, taking up where the previous night ended.

Yeah every now and then I get a freaking trippy creepy dream that makes me feel like i'm dropping mushrooms and lsd at the same time. I've never used those so the dreams have that much feel to them.

Last night i dreamed that every time I twisted my deodorant up blood came out instead of the deodorant. It was bizarre.

You mean like that?

Whoa, I have some very creative dreams (usually consisting of the horizontal mambo) and I have had a few freak out dreams where I felt terror in the worst way. But they come very far and few between.

Have you ever thought of seeing a sleep specialist? I don't know if it would work or not but that's all I got for you.

Hope you get control over this soon.

NOT alone. My dreams petrify me at times. They are so real. I love the ones where Barney, Ghandi, and Shakespeare all show up. At least then I know they are not real.

A dream diary is a great idea. My mom used to do it and then she'd use her dream diary and start analyzing. She drove us nuts with it, but she's the first person I call if I need a dream analysis :)

I, too, have extremely vivid, realistic dreams and sometimes horrible dreams.
Sometimes when I wake up, I feel like I haven't slept because I've been so BUSY in my dreams all night long.

I haven't had a lot of those dreams lately but I do have them. They come and then I wake up and I'm shaken to my core!
I really hate it sometimes!

I dream in technicolor. Very poetic! I used to have a social anxiety dream that reoccurred whenever I was stressed. I was back in highschool, walking down a hall filled with my peers and my legs suddenly froze up. No matter how hard I tried, they would not budge. It was terrifying. Dreams are so important. Do you know I never dream about my children, not since they were born. Isn't that strange?
